Hiking: Santa Fe Audubon Center, Two Mile Reservoir, and the Frey Trail at Bandelier

Stoops and I have been trying out hiking spots close to Santa Fe! Over the last week or so, we've been to the Santa Fe Audubon Society, the Two Mile Reservoir, and a new trail at Bandelier NM that we hadn't been on before! The Audubon Society and the Reservoir were close to us - only about 15 minutes by car from our apartment! Neither were particularly high danger level, but sometimes its great to just hike through the woods!

At the Audubon, there was a hummingbird feeder, and I was lucky enough to get a picture! There are hummingbirds around Santa Fe, but I've never managed to get a good shot.  I think that this one is a female black-chinned hummingbird, but its hard to tell from the angle.

The trail was not actually very primitive, but this sign certainly raised the danger level!

But Stoops was unconvinced...

We stopped at Felipe's Tacos on the way home and there was a lone bat chilling on the wall!

The Dale Ball trails are a 22 mile trail system in eastern Santa Fe, that go through the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains.

We're not exactly sure which trail we ended up on, but it was pretty none the less!

We even saw this little lizard, despite its best efforts at camouflage.

We also went back to Bandelier for some more beautiful views! The Frey trail breaks off of the main loop and goes in switchbacks up one wall of the canyon.  Round trip, this hike was about 5 miles.  We were told that there were rattle snakes on the trail, but luckily we didn't see any!
